Crown and Bridge

Crowns: A crown is a cap placed over a tooth to strengthen it and/or improve its appearance. When used to improve the appearance of a tooth, a crown is generally made from porcelain, instead of a gold metal alloy. For more information on crowns, go to our crown information page.

Bridges: Bridges are also known as partial dentures. Bridges can be both fixed (bonded into place) or removable. Bridges span spaces in the mouth in which teeth are missing, thus providing the appearance of a complete set of teeth. Bridges can be attached to implants placed direcly into the gums or jaw. They can also be attached by cementing it to a crown which is placed over an existing tooth. Bridges closely simulate the function and feel of natural teeth.
